Two hours ago KEYi Tech released a statement on their official Facebook group about possible repercussions of the DDL copyright trolling. To say it short: There are none, Loona is an original design without derivatives from other companies products. The money quote is:
The most important thing is, the design of Loona will not change. We can be sure that the design of Loona will be original and you will receive the product as promised.
It should be noted, though, that the eye design was removed from all promo images …

We have 100% trust in our in-house team. KEYi have worked hard long designing and creating Loona in an original, creative, and intelligent way. It took us more than 3 years to develop and design Loona based on our previous original company knowledge accumulated from designing Cellrobot, and ClicBot – our first consumer robot. And we launched our Kickstarter campaign successfully for ClicBot in 2020.
KEYi represents a group of people with backgrounds of different expertise, and everyone at KEYi works hard on bridging the gap between artificial intelligence and people, connecting consumers to robotics & technology. We hope that we can convey our values through generations of satisfying products.

We’re happy to inform you that our campaign is back and we are able to complete the campaign in the next 24 hours. I would like to thank you deeply for the support and love, and thank you for standing together with us in this difficult time.
We have many thanks to all of our backers from Kickstarter, but we also want to make sure that we do not take your trust for granted. You may purchase Loona for different reasons, but we only have one reason to succeed – deliver the promise we made. Having all of our backers supporting us here is the most valuable asset for us, and it is the last thing we would ever compromise.
Here, we wish to give you an update that our team are working hard solving these copyright claims. While the matter is being discussed between legal entities on both sides, and we need to take caution and we edited the campaign page. But rest assured, at the time, we don’t expect any changes to be made to Loona’s functionality and design and we’ll be sure to inform and consult with our community if needed in the future.
We understand the uncertainty this had installed in many and truly apologize for the confusion and inconvenience. We do not take your trust for granted. All of our Loona mass production is on schedule, and it will get to you on time!
